  • Balance of family test: at least half of your children are eligible, or more of them live in Australia than in any other single country. Children on temporary visas count as overseas. It cannot be waived.

Assurance of Support

FAQ

Can I wait in Australia?

You apply from outside Australia and wait for your queue date. You may visit on a visitor visa in the meantime, but that visa does not give you a right to stay.

Does a temporary visa child count?

No, treated as overseas for the test.

Is there Medicare access?

Contributory parent visa groups are covered by a Ministerial Order. See Medicare.
