When do I use it?

Use it when something changes that the department should know about after you have lodged an application. Examples include a new address or contact details, a new passport, or a change in your relationship or family. Out-of-date information can slow your application, whatever the lodgement date.

How do I report a change?

  1. If you applied online, sign in to your ImmiAccount, open the application and choose Update details. See update details in ImmiAccount.
  2. For changes the online option does not cover, send a completed Form 1022 as the department instructs.
  3. Attach evidence if needed, such as a scan of a new passport.
  4. Keep the confirmation or receipt.

If a registered agent manages your application, tell them first. They may need to make the update on their own account.

What about a new passport?

Update it as soon as you get it. See update passport details.
