Update your passport details for a visa
On this page
Why does it matter?
Your visa is linked to the passport details you gave. Old or wrong details can delay your application, whatever date you lodged it. They can also cause problems when you travel.
How do I update my passport?
- Sign in to your ImmiAccount.
- Open the visa application and choose Update details, usually an icon next to the application.
- Enter the new passport number and expiry date carefully.
- Upload supporting documents when asked, such as a scan of the new passport.
- Review and save, then keep the confirmation email or receipt.
See also update details in ImmiAccount.
What if I have an agent?
A registered migration agent may need to make the update from their own account, or be told so the records match. Confirm with them before you change anything.
Is there a form?
Form 1022 reports changes in your circumstances.
What about a visa I already hold?
Your visa record is held electronically. Check your visa details in VEVO after you change passports. Home Affairs says to use the official site for the exact steps for a granted visa.
FAQ
