How do I check my occupation?

  1. Open the Home Affairs skilled occupation list.
  2. Search for your job title or ANZSCO code. Match the tasks of the occupation, not just the title.
  3. Note each list it appears on: CSOL, MLTSSL, STSOL or ROL.
  4. Note any caveats and the skills assessing authority.
  5. Check that the list covers the visa you want. The CSOL covers the 482 and 186, and the other lists cover other visas.

Which assessing authority do I use?

The occupation entry names the authority. Our guides cover the main ones:

See skills assessment for how the process works.

What if my job is not listed?

Check whether a closely related occupation fits your actual work, and ask a registered migration agent if unsure. See migration agent.

FAQ

Does being on a list guarantee a visa?

No. You still need to meet all the other requirements.

Is the list changing?
Is the 189 list the same as the 482 list?

Not always. Check the list that applies to your visa.
